  The hotel was excellent value for money, breakfast was okay, room was clean (though a bit small, that was the reservation on the other hand), location was the best, whole surrounding area felt safe as well. Very good!

  I stayed at Decumani Hotel De Charme in June 2011 and was very impressed both by how friendly and helpful the staff was and by how nice the rooms were. The hotel is situated in the 'centro storico' of Naples, in a district called Spaccanapoli. This is a very authentic quarter of the city. On the plus side, the area is very much alive and vibrant, you find excellent pizza and espresso and many of the most famous monuments are within walking distance. Slightly less positive is that some parts of the quarter still is relatively seedy and you might want to chose which streets to walk at night. Having said that, I stayed several days in the area and never encountered anything except friendly and helpful people everywhere. Although the area is lively, all rooms are soundproof (as well as air-conditioned) and I slept very well indeed. I strongly recommend the hotel for any visit to Naples. If you want to live in a more fashionable area, closer to good restaurants and shopping but further away from monuments, the same chain operates a second hotel Chiaja Hotel De Charme, which I visited and which looked just as nice as this one. I strongly recommend staying in one of the two excellent Hotels 'De Charme"!
